Beef Taco Meat

Updated: May 6, 2021

For tacos, enchiladas, burritos, quesadillas, etc. - works in a lot.

Long days, hard sunsets and the promise of sweet salsa redemption.

Hands on: 20 min

Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef

1 medium onion, diced

4 tbsp salsa

1 tbsp cumin

2 tsp brown sugar

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp chili powder

1 tsp salt

1+ tsp hot sauce (optional)

1 tbsp butter (or oil)

Cooking:

Mix cumin, brown sugar, paprika, chili powder and salt in a bowl. Set aside.

Melt butter or oil in pan over medium-high heat. Add diced onion and saute until onion is translucent, about 4 minutes, stirring to prevent burning.

Add ground beef to pan. Let sit for 2 minutes or until meat begins to sweat. You can drain the fat now if you'd like.

Add bowl spices, hot sauce and salsa to pan and stir to combine well. Continue cooking over medium heat, stirring, until meat is browned and cooked through, about 5 minutes.
