Biscuits and Gravy

Rich and Simple



Biscuits:

Hands on: 10 min

Hands off: 20 min


Gravy:

Hands on: 30 min


Ingredients:



1/2 lb ground sausage or 4 slices bacon, chopped

3 cups milk

4 tbsp flour

4 tsp sugar

2 tsp salt

1 tsp black pepper

Cooking:


Saute sausage or bacon pieces over medium heat, stirring to heat evenly, until browned and cooked through (about 10 minutes). Keep fat in pan.


Mix flour with one cup of milk in separate bowl, whisking well until blended and there are no clumps. Add to the meat pan along with sugar and salt and turn heat to medium low. Stir as the mixture thickens, gradually adding remaining milk.


Turn heat to low until gravy is barely bubbling. Continue stirring slowly for 10 minutes or until desired consistency.


Pour over open-faced biscuits and please enjoy.
