Updated: May 6, 2021

These biscuits be hittin' different.

Hands on: 10 min

Hands off: 20 min

Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups all purpose flour

1 cup buttermilk (or milk & half a lemon)

1/2 cup frozen butter

3 tsp baking powder

2 tsp honey

1 tsp salt

Cooking:

Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.

Mix dry ingredients; cut butter into small cubes and combine until dough starts to resemble large pellets.

Add buttermilk and honey and combine until dough is flakey. Don’t overwork.

Here’s the kicker - Don’t use a rolling pin. Flatten out the dough with your hands until it’s a 1/2 inch rectangle, fold in half, repeat three times until it’s about 3/4 inch thick total.

Use coffee mug or cutter to shape biscuits.

Bake on cast iron (or baking sheet) for 15-20 min until top is golden.
